The island Ruegen is with its 926 sq.km the largest German island. The biggest part of this beautiful german island are taking the very long fine sandy beaches and the white shining chalk cliffs. The most imposing nature experience is the northern point of the island, the Cap Arkona with its three gorgeous lighthouses. Really lovely to see are the seaside resorts Binz, Sellin, Baabe and Göhren, with its white guesthouses, built in typical Spa style and their beautiful seabridges. Furthermore there are a lot of cycle - and footpaths all over Ruegen. The boattrips to Usedom, Hiddensee or Denmark are also very popular, especially at the main port Sassnitz. Ruegen offers many nice and interesting activities, like a journey with the narrow - gauge railway, called "Rasender Roland" or a trip to the city of Bergen, the capital of Ruegen. Whatever you will see at this wonderful island, you will love it and never forget it.
Usedom is the second largest island. Its situated at the coast of the Baltic Sea. The island has the exeption to the city of Swinoujscie, which belongs to Poland. The area of Poland has a size of 445 sq.km. The most beautiful sight worth seeing is the imposing seabridge in Ahlbeck.
Vilm is an German island at the Baltic Sea. The island is situated in the south of the island Ruegen. It is nearly 1 km large and the highest point is at 37,7m above sea level. The sphere is a protected area, caused by its very old nature.
