The island Achill Island in the County Mayo is with its 146 sq.km the largest island of Ireland. Achill is connected with the mainland by a bridge over the Achill sound. The people say that Kem Bay should be one of the beautifullest beaches of Ireland.

The Aran islands are an archipelago, which is located in front of the west coast of Ireland in the Galway Bay. Today are agriculture, fishery and tourism the main source of income of the inhabitants. The Aran island is also famous for the cord goods and garbs of the native ones.

 

Clare island is situated in front of the west coast of the CO. Mayo in Ireland. It is one of 365 islands in the Clew Bay. There exists only an irregular ferry connection to the island. Approximately 140 people are living on the small isle.

 

Fastnet rock is a small island at the most southern point in front of the coast of Ireland. The small rock island is splitted in the south by a narrow ditch. The lighthouse is the highest of Ireland (54 m).

 

Inishbofin is a small island, situated 9 km in front of the west coast of the Republic of Ireland in the CO. Galway. On that approximately 20sq.km large island are still living 200 humans, who live particularly on fishing and on the agriculture.

 

Inisheer is an island of the Republic of Ireland in the county Galway. The surface of the island covers approximately 10 sq.km. Most of the humans of the island are living in the northern part, where also the port as well as an airfield are.

Inishmaan is an island of the Republic of Ireland. 200 people are living on Inishmaan. Inishmaan is considered as the calmest and contemplativest island of the Aran islands. Principal place of the island is An Córa, there is also situated the port of Inishmaan.

 

Inishmore is an island of the Republic of Ireland. It belongs to the Aran islands and is the largest and furthest west lain inhabited island of the archipelago in the Galway Bay. Inishmore is a popular goal for tourists, who explore the island by bicycle, bus or horse-drawn carriage.

Ireland is the western, smaller island of the two large Northwestern European islands. On the island are situated the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which is a part of the united kingdom. At the coast convenient mountains surround central levels.

The island Great Skellig, accommodates one of most well-known, however also most with difficulty accessible medieval monasteries of Ireland. The remoteness of Skellig Michael deterred until today large hosts of visitors, which contributed also its good preservation.
